Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that the club could have signed Erling Haaland for just £4 million in the summer of 2018.
Solskjaer was Haaland's manager at Norwegian club Molde at the time and contacted United to propose a transfer.
But United did not feel that £4m represented value for money for a teenage Haaland.
United went on to hire Solskjaer as first-team manager in December 2018 but Haaland did not follow him.
Solskjaer told The Sun this week "I called United about six months before I took over and told them that I'd got this striker that we had but they didn't listen.
