Bournemouth vs. Manchester United - prediction, team news, lineup

The two teams experienced contrasting results last time out, with the Red Devils securing a two-goal win over Wolverhampton Wanderers and the Cherries losing by the same margin against Crystal Palace. Twelve months on from securing promotion back to the Premier League, Bournemouth have proven many people wrong by cementing their status in the top flight this season, despite suffering back-to-back defeats in their last two matches against Chelsea and Crystal Palace. A 3-1 home defeat against the Blues was followed by a 2-0 loss at Selhurst Park last weekend, with an Eberechi Eze brace helping the Eagles to come out on top against a Cherries side who failed to register a single shot on target. Gary O'Neil deserves plenty of credit for keeping Bournemouth up this season, with his side currently sitting 14th in the table and eight points clear of the drop zone, but the Cherries boss – who turned 40 on Thursday – will be keen to end the campaign on a high and claim positive results fro...

However, the England international striker will be 30 in...

ERIK TEN HAG has told Manchester United chiefs: Get me a No9.

The Red Devils are determined to land England captain Kane — with Tottenham demanding £100million. And the Old Trafford club could soon be flush with cash if Sheikh Jassim, who wants Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar, buys the club in a £5.5BILLION takeover. SunSport understands United stars are desperate for the Glazer family to sell up to end the negative atmosphere and boost their squad with world-class signings. And now Ten Hag says:  “Everyone knows and it is not a secret that long-term and over a whole season we had a shortage of No9s. “We had the drop out of [Cristiano] Ronaldo, then Anthony Martial was often not available, Jadon Sancho often not available, then you have a shortage of front line players. “We have players who can play the role but definitely we need some offensive players who are impact and qual...

Fans joke Man Utd goalmouth scramble is something out of ‘Sunday league’ as Savage says ‘What on earth is going on!?’

FOOTIE fans likened a goalmouth scramble in Manchester United's Europa League clash with Sevilla to 'Sunday league' football. The Red Devils travelled to the Ramon Sanchez Pijuan stadium on Thursday night looking to progress to the semi-finals of the tournament. But they were under the cosh for large portions of the second leg of their quarter-final tie - which they ended up losing 5-2 on aggregate. And a scramble in front of David de Gea's goal in the 51st minute epitomised how badly United defended on the night. A blocked header from Youssef En-Nesyri sparked pandemonium inside United's six-yard box - with Lucas Ocampos having a shot blocked on the line. Two more Sevilla players dived in to try and bundle the ball home but were met with fierce resistance on the line from Diogo Dalot. And United eventually managed to clear their lines through Casemiro - although it wasn't long before they were back under pressure. Fans watching the game couldn't quite belie...

Ten Hag said: “We have to face it that we let ourselves down and let the fans down and if you want to win trophies if you want to be successful you need character. “Tonight was not good enough it was obvious, it was clear, we didn’t match the standards you can expect from a team from Manchester United.” Ten Hag was asked if the most disappointing thing was the lack of fight in his team. He said: “I have to acknowledge, it is the truth, it is hard, it is tough. It can’t be, it is unacceptable We have to start games better with more desire and when you get a setback you have to deal with it and carry on “We have to be better and it is not about playing skills, it is about character and being composed and have desire and passion. "We lost the battles, they had more passion, more desire, more willingness. "It can’t be and I think it is unacceptable.

Ten Hag praises De Gea as the ‘complete goalkeeper’ as Man Utd push to reduce his wages on new deal

ERIK TEN HAG has hailed No 1 David de Gea as the “complete goalkeeper” despite his Manchester United contract stand-off. The  Red Devils  boss is determined the club reach an agreement with the Spanish shot stopper to keep him beyond this season. De Gea , 32, has been at Old Trafford for 12 years after joining from Atletico Madrid. His current contract runs out this summer and United want to reduce his wages from £375,000 a week to £200,000 but the player is refusing to sign. United have already defeated Barcelona and Real Betis, who are above Sevilla in the La Liga table, in the Europa League this season and they are heavy favourites to win the competition for the second time since it was rebranded. United looked to be in cruise control in the quarter-final clash thanks to Marcel Sabitzer's double. Sevilla have struggled this term and they sit in the bottom half of La Liga. They recently sacked Jorge Sampaoli and Jose Luis Mendilibar, who has managed multiple teams in Spain throughout his career, has taken charge.
